A Befriender offers companionship through a listening ear

Are you a patient in one of the surgeries in Horsham Central Primary Care Network?

We are currently developing an exciting new service called Horsham District Befriends which will support people (18+) who have anxieties about leaving the house or who are feeling lonely. If you would like to join a community group but are worried about doing this you might like to consider requesting a Volunteer Befriender.

Social Prescribers work with individuals to help them solve problems with housing, employment, debt issues, mental health issues and loneliness. Our Social Prescribers in the Primary Care Network are able to match you with a volunteer who can chat with you on the phone, go for a walk with you or accompany you to local organisations.

If you are interested in taking part in this pilot we would love to hear from you. Please click on the link to your surgery website where you will be able to register your interest:

If you are interested in becoming a Volunteer Befriender, find out more.

You will have an informal and voluntary relationship that is friendly, kind and non-judgemental
