Citizens Advice in West Sussex celebrated their 86th year of helping local residents at their Annual General Meeting in Crawley on November 6. With over 350 local volunteers working together for the community, their advice helped people access £26million of additional income people were missing out on, including fuel tariffs to reduce energy bills. Community members gave up over 33,000 hours and the charity provided 11,000 hours of training to community members across the year.
Citizens Advice in West Sussex is excited to announce that Horsham District Council has extended its funding for outreach sessions for another year. The sessions, which are held at various times in the month in Southwater, Pulborough, Henfield, Billingshurst and Storrington, offer targeted support for Horsham residents who are struggling to meet essential living costs. We care, we listen, and can make a difference through advice about debt, benefits, employment, housing and more.
Legal eagles from throughout the area joined staff from Citizens Advice in West Sussex (CAWS) to take part in a 10km fundraising walk to raise vital cash for Citizens Advice services. The annual Crawley Legal Walk, which took place in Tilgate Park in Crawley on Tuesday (September 9) aims to raise thousands of pounds, with this year’s money going directly to key CAWS projects, including the foodbank team and cancer support project.
