Social Media and Content Creator Volunteer

What will you do?

We’re looking for a creative volunteer who enjoys social media, photography and video content creation. You’ll work alongside the Senior Communications and Marketing Officer to help us tell the story of Citizens Advice in West Sussex and give bite-sized advice through engaging digital content, reaching new audiences on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. Whether you’re filming reels, designing graphics, capturing photos at events or spotting the latest social media trends, you’ll help ensure more know who we are, what we do and how we can help.

  • Creating content for social media
  • Filming and editing short-form video content, including Reels and TikToks
  • Producing graphics, photography and other creative assets
  • Identifying social media trends and helping us develop content to reach new audiences
  • Supporting campaigns that raise awareness of our services and impact
  • Writing social media posts as well as occasional blogs and stories about the people and communities we support

What do you need to have? You don’t need specific qualifications or skills, but you’ll need to:

  • Be friendly and approachable
  • Be non-judgmental and politically impartial, respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
  • Have good IT skills
  • Have good verbal and written skills
  • Be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
  • Be willing to undertake training in your role in a timely manner
  • Be comfortable with social media platforms including TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
  • Be confident in front of a camera, as well as behind

Volunteer Commitment and Support Details

  • We can be flexible about the time spent and how often you volunteer, so come and talk to us.
  • This role can be office-based or remote; however, the initial sessions to be in person in one of our centres in West Sussex
  • Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
