Legal eagles join Citizens Advice in West Sussex for charity 10km walk to raise vital cash

Legal eagles from throughout the area joined staff from Citizens Advice in West Sussex (CAWS) to take part in a 10km fundraising walk to raise vital cash for Citizens Advice services.
The annual Crawley Legal Walk, which took place in Tilgate Park in Crawley on Tuesday (September 9) aims to raise thousands of pounds, with this year’s money going directly to key CAWS projects, including the foodbank team and cancer support project.
The High Sheriff of West Sussex, Dr Timothy Fooks led the 39-strong team, and a handful of dogs, to walk the 10km route around the beautiful woodland in Tilgate Park.
The walkers included staff from Family Law Partners, Morr & Co, HCB Legal Limited, Mayo Wynne Baxter, DMH Stallard and staff and volunteers from Citizens Advice in West Sussex.
Jason Mather, Head of Client Services at Citizens Advice in West Sussex, was accompanied by his dog Bertie on the walk.
He said: “It was great to take part in this year’s walk and see so many new faces taking part. This annual charity fundraiser is a great way to end the summer, walking around the beautiful Tilgate park on a lovely summer’s evening. After the event, walkers gathered at the Smith and Western to enjoy a drink and socialise, as well as take part in a charity raffle. It is great to see this event is attracting so many people to raise awareness and money for Citizens Advice in West Sussex.”
After taking part in the walk, Matt Parr, a Partner at Mayo Wynne Baxter, said: “The Crawley Legal Walk is a fantastic way to support Citizens Advice in West Sussex – helping firms give back to local people while enjoying a fun, community-spirited walk together in the wonderful Tilgate Park.”
